Solaris Cancer Care

Solaris Cancer Care is Western Australia’s leader in integrative cancer care; providing a helping hand to guide people towards better health.  Solaris's vision is to bring humanity to healthcare through care, compassion and the community and promote overall quality of life and wellbeing across all stages of cancer.  The centres and services are operated by one of WA’s largest network of volunteers and offer a range of support, information, education and exercise programs, as well as access to safe complementary integrated therapies. Each year, Journeys of the Spirit run a very special Members only Solaris Cancer Care Wellness Retreat with the very gifted Solaris facilitator, Cathy Brown. Our next Wellness Retreat departure is in September 2018.

The Red Beanie project

Pamela Fruin, a dear friend of Julie's initiated the idea to create beanies for the nuns and disadvantaged young women of Bhutan. What began as a collaborative community project through Soroptimist International with women throughout Western Australia creating these red beanies, has grown into a deep and rewarding exchange. Both for the women that lovingly create these hand made beanies and scarves, and for those who receive them. Journeys of the Spirit has agreed to continue supporting this SIWA project by delivering the beanies on each of our journeys to Bhutan. If you would like to contribute to this project in any way, please contact us.

Beyond Blue provides information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live.

Our very own guide Sue Tredget is an Ambassador/Speaker for Beyond Blue, and is passionate about raising awareness of mental health, giving regular presentations at community and corporate events and doing what she can to break down stigma, silence and shame by sharing her very personal journey through anxiety and depression.

To achieve this, the RSPCA works to enforce animal cruelty laws and prompt new legislation where required.
